Description
At Classiq Technologies, we're shaping the future of quantum computing. Our platform lets developers and enterprises design, optimize, and deploy quantum algorithms at scale, and is trusted by Fortune 500 leaders and global governments. Classiq is backed by 70 patents.
We're looking for a science-oriented software developer with a strong background in quantum information and quantum algorithms to help build our quantum compiler. We hire across levels — from researchers coming out of a strong M.Sc./Ph.D. to seasoned engineers.
The team & what you'll work on
The Qmod language and its compiler toolchain — semantics, type system, intermediate representation, and the next-generation compilation pipeline
The synthesis engine that lowers high-level programs into circuits optimized for width (qubits/ancillas), depth, and gate count under user constraints
Implement and improve quantum synthesis algorithms from the literature — arithmetic, multi-controlled-gate synthesis, Hamiltonian simulation (Trotterization, qDRIFT), state preparation, uncomputation, and fault-tolerant compilation (Clifford+T, routing)
Resource estimation for quantum programs
Debugging tools for quantum programs — for example, a visual model of the high-level program that lets users inspect and troubleshoot what they wrote
Compiler-pass performance and correctness, benchmarked against real algorithms (e.g. Shor's algorithm, quantum phase estimation, QSVT)
What you'll do
Design and develop the capabilities of the quantum compiler
Contribute to the architecture of the quantum compiler and the definition of our high-level quantum programming language
Collaborate closely with product and algorithm teams to deliver production-ready quantum capabilities
Who you are
M.Sc. or higher in Physics, Computer Science, or a related field, with a thesis or equivalent research in quantum information — the heart of the role
Solid understanding of quantum computing principles and hands-on experience developing quantum algorithms
Able to write real, maintainable code and eager to build production software — a strong plus
Passion for building tools that empower developers and researchers
Bonus points
Experience with quantum software frameworks (e.g. our platform, Qiskit, Cirq, PennyLane)
Strong Python
Broader computer-science algorithms background
Prior experience in compiler or synthesis-engine development
Why join us
Join a very well-funded, rising startup in an exploding field
Work on high-impact initiatives at the core of the product
A collaborative culture grounded in scientific excellence and commercial ambition
Competitive compensation, equity, and benefits
Is this role relevant for you?
