Description
At Classiq Technologies, we're shaping the future of quantum computing. Our platform lets developers and enterprises design, optimize, and deploy quantum algorithms at scale, and is trusted by Fortune 500 leaders and global governments. Classiq is backed by 70 patents.
We're looking for a science-oriented software developer with a strong background in mathematics and computer science to help build our quantum compiler. We hire across levels - from researchers coming out of a strong M.Sc./Ph.D. to seasoned engineers.
The team is working on
The Qmod language and its compiler toolchain: semantics, type system, intermediate representation, and the next-generation compilation pipeline - this is a production compiler
The synthesis engine that lowers high-level programs into circuits optimized for width (qubits/ancillas), depth, and gate count under user constraints
Implement and improve quantum synthesis algorithms from the literature: arithmetic, multi-controlled-gate synthesis, Hamiltonian simulation (Trotterization, qDRIFT), state preparation, uncomputation, and fault-tolerant compilation (Clifford+T, routing)
Resource estimation for quantum programs
Debugging tools for quantum programs, for example, a visual model of the high-level program that lets users inspect and troubleshoot what they wrote
Compiler-pass performance and correctness, benchmarked against real algorithms (e.g., Shor's algorithm, quantum phase estimation, QSVT)
What you'll do
Design and develop production-grade capabilities for the quantum compiler
Own your code - it is production code that customers use to meet their goals
Contribute to the architecture of the quantum compiler and the definition of our high-level quantum programming language
Collaborate closely with product and algorithm teams to deliver production-ready quantum capabilities
Who you are
M.Sc. or higher in Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field, with a thesis or equivalent research experience
Strong foundations in algorithms and complexity, plus the math underpinning quantum computing (advanced linear algebra, group theory, Hilbert spaces)
5+ years of software engineering experience
Experience building production-quality software systems
Strong understanding of software architecture, APIs, testing, and maintainability
Bonus points
Machine learning, neural networks, or reinforcement learning - a significant plus (e.g. learned heuristics or RL for compiler and circuit optimization)
Experience with Python performance optimization
Experience with scientific computing or simulation software
Prior experience in compiler development
Is this role relevant for you?
