Quantum error correction and fault-tolerant quantum computing are central to the future of the industry and a strategic focus area at Classiq. Our R&D organization develops the technologies, software infrastructure, and workflows that will enable the transition from noisy quantum devices to practical logical quantum computing.
We are seeking a Quantum Software Engineer to help build the software foundation for Classiq’s fault-tolerant quantum computing capabilities.
As a Quantum Software Engineer, you will design and develop the software infrastructure, APIs, and workflows that enable fault-tolerant quantum computing within the Classiq platform.
Working closely with quantum error correction researchers and GPU engineers, you will transform advanced research and prototypes into scalable, maintainable, and production-ready software. You will play a key role in shaping the architecture of systems that support logical quantum computing and future fault-tolerant workflows.
What you'll do
Design and implement software infrastructure for fault-tolerant computing workflows
Develop APIs, libraries, and internal frameworks that support quantum error correction and logical computing capabilities
Collaborate with researchers and engineers to transform algorithms and prototypes into production-quality software
Build scalable, maintainable, and well-tested systems
Contribute to architecture, design, and technical decision-making across multiple components of the platform
Integrate simulation, decoding, resource estimation, and execution workflows into the broader Classiq ecosystem
Contribute to end-to-end demonstrations and customer-facing solutions
Work closely with R&D, engineering, and product teams to deliver new capabilities
Who you are
5+ years of software engineering experience
Strong software development skills in Python
Experience designing and building production-quality software systems
Strong understanding of software architecture, APIs, testing, and maintainability
Experience working with complex technical systems and large codebases
Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
Ability to independently lead technical projects from design through delivery
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Bonus points
Experience with scientific computing or simulation software
Experience building SDKs, developer platforms, or technical products
Experience with cloud-native systems and scalable infrastructure
Experience working closely with research teams
Familiarity with quantum computing concepts
Experience with Python performance optimization
