Yesterday
While global exchanges remain closed for the weekend, and yesterday saw the typical Saturday lull with just 12 new jobs opened, the local job market has officially woken up to a fresh, active work week this morning.
Today
We are starting the week with 16,687 active open roles across 2,421 companies. The slight edge of closed jobs (70) over newly opened ones (63) in the last 24 hours points to cautious beginning-of-the-week stability, as recruiters clear their desks. Given that inflation remains around 3% and the interest rate is holding tight at 3.25%, it's encouraging to see hiring engines still running at such a healthy baseline.
Supply vs demand
There is a perfect match at the top of the board right now: Engineering and QA are completely dominating both market supply (over 4,600 and 1,000 open roles, respectively) and candidate searches (like "backend" and "qa"). On the flip side, we're seeing strong search volume for "student" and "intern", signaling an eagerness from juniors to break into the industry. For them, it's a tougher hunt, as direct supply in those entry-level brackets remains comparatively thin.
Industry
The tech sector's dual momentum is on full display today. On one hand, massive acquisitions signal deep pockets and strong market appetite: Varonis is being acquired for $6.3 billion, and Intel is snapping up Classiq in a $2.3 billion deal. On the other hand, the AI revolution is forcing sharp operational pivots—AI21 laid off 60 employees to refocus, Bria AI is cutting 120 roles, and ICE is shedding 500 jobs as it navigates the AI transition. The market isn't just growing; it is fundamentally restructuring.
Ahead
The upcoming calendar is packed with directional macro signals. On Tuesday (Nov 10), we'll be watching the US CPI release closely, followed by the local Israel CPI on Nov 15. Later in the week, all eyes will turn to a flurry of earnings reports from giants like Nvidia, alongside local tech players like Similarweb and Global-e.
