What a College Intern – Manufacturing Process Engineer does at HP:
Gain hands-on exposure to final assembly manufacturing processes, Industry 4.0 solutions and technologies, and essential professional skills—including root cause analysis, Lean Six Sigma, data analysis, and executive presentations.
Work alongside the Process Engineering team to ensure assembly processes meet quality and operational performance targets in inkjet printhead manufacturing.
Contribute to technical investigations and failure analyses of process-related quality issues, helping the team identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
Collaborate with teammates and cross-functional partners on Industry 4.0 and continuous improvement projects, developing innovative concepts that strengthen process capabilities and improve line productivity.
What you'll do
Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical, Materials, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering, or an equivalent discipline.
Availability for a full-time internship beginning in January 2027, with a commitment of at least five to six months.
A foundational understanding of manufacturing processes and data analytics; practical or academic experience is an advantage.
The curiosity and agility to learn new technologies and methodologies quickly.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills demonstrated through university coursework, projects, or related experience.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Basic programming experience in Python or a similar language.
A growth mindset, collaborative approach, and enthusiasm for learning and contributing as part of a team.
