Bezeq (The Israel Telecommunication Corp.) was established in 1984 as a state-owned enterprise, absorbing the telecommunication services previously operated directly by the Israeli Ministry of Communications. The company was fully privatized by 2005. Headquartered in the Azrieli Holon Center, Bezeq is publicly traded on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange under the ticker BEZQ and is a constituent of the TA-35 index. Employing roughly 5,000 people across its corporate group, Bezeq is the principal telecommunications infrastructure operator in Israel. The company serves as the parent to several major Israeli communications subsidiaries, including Pelephone (cellular), yes (pay-TV), and Bezeq International (enterprise IT). Over the past few years, the company's primary operational focus has been the aggressive nationwide deployment of its fiber-optic network, branded as Bfiber.

Bezeq owns and operates Israel's most extensive fixed-line telephone and broadband infrastructure network. For residential customers, the core offerings are internet infrastructure and traditional landlines. For the enterprise sector, Bezeq provides data networking, server hosting, and high-capacity transmission services. The company's operations are heavily regulated by the Israeli Ministry of Communications, most notably through a mandated wholesale market policy that forces Bezeq to lease its physical infrastructure to competing Internet Service Providers (ISPs).
