Buildots was founded in Tel Aviv in 2018 by Roy Danon (CEO), Aviv Leibovici (CPO), and Yakir Sudry (CTO), who met during their service in the IDF's Talpiot program. The privately held company operates from its Tel Aviv headquarters with a major commercial office in London. Buildots is backed by investors including TLV Partners, Lightspeed Venture Partners, Viola Growth, and Intel Capital, which led a $15M funding extension in 2024, bringing total funding to approximately $120M. The core product is an AI-driven construction management platform that uses computer vision to automatically track site progress against digital plans.

The platform solves the disconnect between digital construction plans and physical site execution. Construction site managers walk the site wearing commercially available 360-degree cameras mounted on their hardhats. Buildots' software processes this video footage using computer vision algorithms, matching the visual data to the project's 3D Building Information Model (BIM) and construction schedule. This allows the system to automatically detect deviations, incomplete tasks, and schedule delays. General contractors use the platform to monitor subcontractor performance, verify billing, and manage project timelines without relying on manual reporting.

Buildots competes directly with other construction tech (Contech) startups focused on site capture and progress tracking, most notably OpenSpace, Disperse, and Doxel. While some competitors focus heavily on virtual site walk-throughs and 360-degree photo documentation, Buildots positions its platform around objective, algorithmic schedule tracking and quantitative progress measurement (Earned Value Management). The company serves large general contractors and developers internationally, with publicly named clients including Mace, Wates, and EllisDon.

The company's R&D, computer vision engineering, and product teams are centralized in Tel Aviv.
