Ben-Gurion University of the Negev

Ben-Gurion University of the Negev (BGU) is a public research university located in Beer Sheva, Israel. It was founded in 1969 and named after David Ben-Gurion, Israel's first Prime Minister. The main campus is the Marcus Campus in Beer Sheva, and the university also operates a campus in Eilat.

BGU offers academic degrees across engineering, natural sciences, medicine, humanities, social sciences, and law. The university and its Faculty of Engineering Sciences are particularly known for research in cybersecurity, computer science, solar energy, and water technologies — fields with direct relevance to the Negev region and to Israel's national priorities.
