The Technion — Israel Institute of Technology — is a research university located in Haifa. Founded in 1912, before the establishment of the State of Israel, it is the oldest institution of higher education in Israel. The Technion is not a commercial company and is not publicly traded.

The Technion offers academic degrees in engineering, computer science, exact sciences, medicine, and architecture, among other fields. It is particularly well known for producing engineers and scientists who go on to work in Israel's technology industry.
