eyesAtop builds a multi-drone control platform used in dynamic, high-risk environments.
Our systems do not live primarily in the cloud. They run on drones, NVIDIA Jetson devices, custom hardware, communication systems, and ground stations deployed in the field.
We are looking for someone to lead our DevOps team and own the infrastructure that connects development to real-world deployment: device provisioning, Linux images, CI/CD, fleet updates, networking, observability, security and hardware integration.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who enjoys working across software, Linux, networking and physical systems.
The function is early-stage: much of the tooling does not exist yet, priorities move, and the systems are safety-critical and run on physical hardware, which means real on-call.
What you'll do
Own the path from commit to device: CI/CD for backend services, applications, firmware and edge software
Own deployment and update systems for devices running at customer sites, in the field, and in disconnected or air-gapped environments
Set the direction for provisioning, configuration, validation, recovery and fleet-management tooling
Own monitoring, logging, alerting and diagnostics for safety-critical systems, and the on-call process around them
Drive the security and resilience of Linux-based devices through secure updates, access controls, encryption, system hardening and operational safeguards
Turn undocumented practice into standards, runbooks and repeatable process
Work hands-on across Linux networking, VPNs, firewalls, containers, unreliable connectivity and remote access
Automate how hardware platforms are flashed, configured, tested and integrated
Plan how the platform scales as we grow into more devices, customers and sites, including the cloud and backend side
Decide where internal automation and AI-assisted tooling reduces repetitive engineering and operational work
Work directly with software, hardware, robotics and field teams to take systems from development to operational deployment
Requirements
5+ years of experience in DevOps, infrastructure, platform engineering or a related role
Proven experience leading and managing a DevOps team
Strong Linux systems experience, including services, networking, storage, debugging, image creation and device provisioning
Strong experience with containers, CI/CD, scripting, automation and configuration management
Solid networking knowledge, including routing, firewalls, VPNs, DNS and troubleshooting connectivity issues
Experience operating systems in on-premise, disconnected or air-gapped environments
Comfortable working hands-on with physical devices, serial consoles, flashing tools, logs and low-level system troubleshooting
A track record of owning a production system end to end, including being the person called when it broke
Experience growing the engineers around you through mentoring, code review and technical standards
Able to set technical direction and explain it to hardware, software and field teams
Nice to have
Experience leading a team, or hiring and onboarding engineers
Experience with NVIDIA Jetson, Raspberry Pi Compute Module or similar edge platforms
Experience building custom Linux images, BSPs, kernels or device-specific system software
Background in defense, robotics, drones, autonomous systems or industrial systems
Familiarity with video pipelines using GStreamer, FFmpeg, RTSP or WebRTC
Experience with secure boot, disk encryption, signed updates or device identity
Experience building internal developer platforms, fleet-management tools or operational tooling
Cloud and backend infrastructure experience, a growing part of the platform rather than where it lives today
