Lenovo Digital Trust Lab seeks a hands-on and innovative Software Engineer to join our cutting-edge research team. This role will support the development of a new high-performance security system, enabling rapid, distributed processing of large volumes of data and efficiently integrating advanced machine learning models to improve performance and detection capabilities.
You will play a key role in designing and building a high-performance, distributed security system, translating research ideas into production-grade technology that protects customer data at scale.
Candidate must be willing to work onsite three days a week in our Tel-Aviv, Israel office.
Job Responsibilities
• Own the architecture and development of a high-performance security system.
• Design and implement scalable processing pipelines: job scheduling, work partitioning, parallel/concurrent processing, and fault-tolerant execution across distributed workers.
• Integrate advanced machine learning models into the processing pipeline, optimizing inference for throughput, latency, and cost.
• Build efficient integrations with diverse data sources and storage systems (on-premises and cloud).
• Establish performance budgets and drive profiling and optimization (I/O, CPU, memory, and network efficiency).
• Collaborate with security researchers and data scientists to turn detection research into production capabilities, and mentor engineers, lead technical design reviews, and drive engineering best practices.
• Build observability, resilience, and testability into the system, and apply secure-by-design practices.
Minimum Requirements
• BSc in Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 4+ years of professional software development building production-grade, high-performance systems.
• Strong proficiency C++, as well as Python.
• Proven experience designing and building distributed systems (task queues, work distribution, horizontal scaling, fault tolerance).
• Deep experience with concurrency, parallel processing, and performance optimization (profiling, I/O efficiency, memory management).
• Experience with messaging/streaming systems and datastores (SQL + NoSQL).
• Experience with cloud environments, containers, and orchestration.
