About SeatPick
SeatPick is a profitable, fast-growing global secondary ticket marketplace. We help fans find the best tickets to sports, concerts, and festivals by comparing inventory across dozens of sellers and brokers – using technology and data to make a messy market simpler and more transparent.
The scale is the point. Tens of millions of fans come through SeatPick every year across 17 markets, and behind them sits a live picture of the entire secondary market – millions of events and listings pulled from dozens of marketplaces and brokers, with prices and quantities moving continuously. On top of that, every search, filter, click, and booking those fans generate. Very few companies in live events hold a dataset this deep. Almost none of it is modelled today.
We have the data. We don't yet have the data function. That's this role.
What you'll do
You'll build SeatPick's data foundation from zero and own it end to end: architecture, stack selection, pipelines, warehouse, governance, and the reporting layer on top.
This is our first data hire and a company-wide mandate, not a service desk. You'll work with product, engineering, marketing, operations, and commercial teams – and you'll be the person who decides what our single source of truth looks like.
The goal: data that connects the full customer journey – from acquisition to onsite behavior, purchase, CRM and revenue – and is used across the business, not just in reports.
Choose the architecture and stack – warehouse, ingestion, transformation, orchestration, BI – and justify the choices
Build and own pipelines and integrations across marketplace, catalog, pricing, customer, marketing, and operational data
Establish a single source of truth, with the modeling and documentation that makes it trustworthy
Set standards for data quality, governance, and monitoring, and build the alerting that catches breakage before stakeholders do
Build dashboards and reporting frameworks teams actually use to make decisions
Work with product and engineering to make sure the right events get captured in the first place
Connect acquisition and marketing data with onsite behavior and transactions to enable reliable measurement of CAC, ROAS, LTV and cohorts
Build a customer data model and segments that Growth and CRM teams can act on
Use AI and LLM tooling wherever it earns its place – pipeline development, documentation, data quality, and analysis – so one person can cover ground a team normally would
Turn vague business questions into reliable answers – scoping, analysis, and follow-through to production
Requirements
5+ years in data engineering, data infrastructure, or analytics engineering
Built data infrastructure from scratch and owned it end to end – not just contributed to an existing platform
Strong SQL and Python, with real experience in data modeling and ETL/ELT design
Hands-on with a modern stack: cloud warehouse (BigQuery / Snowflake / Redshift), transformation (dbt or equivalent), orchestration (Airflow, Dagster, or similar)
Experience with genuinely high-volume, messy data at scale – not a well-behaved reporting database
Comfortable being the entire function – deciding, building, and owning the outcome, with the autonomy that comes with it
Credible with non-technical stakeholders – able to scope, push back, and reframe the question when the question is wrong
Nice to have
B2C marketplace, e-commerce, travel, ticketing, gaming or fintech background
Experience with BI tooling and building a reporting layer people trust
Familiarity with streaming or near-real-time pipelines
Experience with marketing and customer data – attribution, connecting Google/Meta with first-party conversion data, CDPs (Segment, RudderStack) or reverse ETL
