Onyx is looking for a Technical Solution Architect to join our Solutions team. In this role, you will work closely with customers, Sales Engineers, Product, and Engineering to deliver successful Proofs of Concept (POCs) and solve complex technical challenges.
Everyone at Onyx is a builder. In this role, you’ll contribute directly to the Onyx platform by building product features, developing proof-of-concepts for customers, and creating internal tools that improve, streamline, and accelerate the POC process.
This is a highly hands-on position for someone who enjoys diving deep into customer environments, working with data, building technical solutions, and creating value beyond the product itself. You'll play a key role in helping enterprise customers realize the full potential of our AI security platform while influencing product direction through real-world customer feedback.
What you'll do
Lead the technical execution of customer Proofs of Concept (POCs), from initial design through successful delivery.
Partner with Sales Engineers to provide deep technical expertise throughout the sales cycle.
Build tools to accelerate deployments and demonstrate customer value.
Participate in customer workshops, architecture discussions, and live debugging sessions.
Analyze raw customer data to uncover insights and validate platform capabilities.
Design creative technical solutions that address customer use cases, even beyond the platform's out-of-the-box capabilities.
Troubleshoot complex technical issues across customer environments and work closely with Engineering to resolve them.
Collaborate with Product and R&D to communicate customer feedback and influence future product capabilities.
Build technical best practices, reusable assets, and implementation playbooks to improve future deployments.
Serve as a trusted technical advisor throughout the customer journey.
Requirements
What You'll Bring
5+ years of experience in Solution Architecture, Solutions Engineering, Professional Services, Forward Deployed Engineering, or a similar customer-facing technical role.
Strong software engineering.
Experience working with APIs, integrations, automation, and data processing.
Strong understanding of Kubernetes, Linux, networking, containers, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
Experience analyzing datasets and troubleshooting complex technical environments.
Ability to quickly understand customer architectures and design practical solutions.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and business audiences.
A proactive, customer-first mindset with a passion for solving challenging problems.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment.
Experience with AI, cybersecurity, cloud-native technologies, or developer platforms.
Nice to have
Experience supporting enterprise POCs or large-scale deployments.
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and infrastructure-as-code.
Experience working directly with Product and Engineering teams to influence roadmap decisions.
