We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Practical Engineer to join our Product Engineering Team. In this role, you will take an active part in the practical assembly, integration, and validation of test stations for both board-level and system-level testing. You will be responsible for creating mechanical drawings, assembly drawings, and releasing bills of materials, while supporting other development tasks. Your work will focus on functional simplicity, reliability, and repeatability, ensuring that test stations are ergonomic and user-friendly for technicians. You will collaborate closely with other mechanical engineers, as well as cross-functional teams including electrical engineers, NPI, purchasing, and other disciplines.
What you'll do
Perform practical assembly, integration, and validation of mechanical test stations in production and development environments.
Create detailed mechanical drawings and assembly drawings for test station components and assemblies.
Release and maintain bills of materials (BOMs) for test stations, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
Ensure reliable and repeatable test station performance to maintain consistent test results.
Collaborate with hardware engineers, software engineers, and electrical engineers to ensure smooth integration of test setups.
Work closely with NPI, purchasing, and other departments to support development and manufacturing initiatives.
Support troubleshooting and validation of test stations in production environments.
Document design specifications, assembly instructions, and maintenance procedures.
Requirements
2+ years of hands-on experience in mechanical design and development of test fixtures, test stations, or similar electromechanical systems.
Proficiency in SolidWorks 3D CAD design software.
Strong understanding of mechanical components, materials, manufacturing processes, and design for assembly.
Proven experience with designing for reliability, repeatability, ease of maintenance, and manufacturability.
Demonstrated ability to work closely with cross-functional teams, including hardware engineers, electrical engineers, manufacturing/NPI, and purchasing.
Experience creating and releasing engineering drawings, BOMs, and technical documentation.
Strong practical hands-on skills with assembly, integration, testing, and troubleshooting of mechanical systems.
Excellent problem-solving and attention to detail.
