Description
About Us
We're a stealth-mode startup backed by Team8 and founded by AI industry leaders. We are building the full-lifecycle trust platform for AI agents — delivering world-class evaluation, guardrails, synthetic data, and continuous optimization. We're at the forefront of a new engineering discipline, and we're building an exceptional team to match.
About the Role
We're looking for a senior backend engineer who thrives on hard, high-leverage problems and owns them end-to-end. Our platform is cloud-native and moving fast, and the challenges we'll point you at are varied — from making our products run in the world's most demanding enterprise environments, to architecting new backend systems, to whatever the next big unlock turns out to be. You're versatile, deeply technical, and equally comfortable going wide across the stack or deep into a gnarly problem. Wherever we send you, you make it run right — and build it so it keeps running. This is work that directly unlocks our biggest opportunities.
In This Role You'll
Take cloud-native products (like our vibe-training engine) and make them run anywhere — on-prem, air-gapped, and locked-down enterprise environments
Architect backend services and deployment topologies that work seamlessly across GCP, AWS, and on-prem
Design clean, maintainable systems — strong abstractions, reusable components, code other engineers love to build on
Own the infra stack end-to-end: Kubernetes, Terraform/IaC, networking, storage, and databases
Be the team's tooling obsessive — reach for (or build) the right tool that makes everyone faster
Work hand-in-hand with AI researchers, frontend, and infra engineers to bring new capabilities to life
Requirements
What You Bring
Must have:
5+ years of backend engineering on large-scale production systems real users depend on
Strong in Python and TypeScript
Deep cloud expertise across GCP and AWS, and comfort working with multiple service providers
Kubernetes, modern deployment pipelines, and Terraform / IaC
Solid grasp of networking, operating systems, and distributed-systems fundamentals
Hands-on with a range of databases (relational, NoSQL, vector) and a sharp instinct for which to use when
Track record of clean system/code design and shipping features end-to-end
"Can-do" approach — you've solved hard problems and know how to figure things out
Bonus points:
Experience deploying in on-prem / air-gapped / regulated environments (security & compliance teams in the room)
Experience running ML/LLM or data-intensive workloads in production
Helm, GitOps/ArgoCD, and strong observability chops (metrics, logs, tracing)
Is this role relevant for you?
