Engineering Manager

A profitable, high-growth Israeli Consumer-AI and Smart Home technology company engineering advanced consumer hardware, mobile platforms, and XR/AR visualization software. Backed by strategic institutional investors and operating profitably at global scale, the company develops a diverse ecosystem of intelligent physical and digital consumer products reaching millions of active international consumers. The office is located in Central Tel Aviv, operating on a flexible hybrid model of 1–2 days working from home. Role Description- • Serving as a Multidisciplinary Engineering Team Lead / Group Lead (30% Hands-On / 70% People & Technical Leadership), reporting directly to the VP of R&D, taking full technological and operational ownership of one of the company’s flagship, best-selling connected consumer products. • Leading and expanding a core multidisciplinary engineering squad of 6 developers spanning Hardware, Embedded Firmware, Mobile (iOS), Cloud Backend (Node.js), and Web (React). • Defining high-level end-to-end system architecture, driving technical trade-offs across hardware-software boundaries, and scaling products to support massive global consumer traffic. • Partnering closely with the General Manager (GM), Product Management, Industrial Design, and Operations/Supply Chain leaders to influence product roadmaps, project timelines, and manufacturing readiness. • Providing technical mentorship, leading architectural design and code reviews, implementing best development methodologies, and actively coding core components (~30% hands-on). • Driving product reliability, cloud-to-device connectivity protocols, low-latency firmware interactions, and intuitive consumer mobile experiences. Requirements- • B.Sc. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or an equivalent technical degree – Mandatory • 3 years of proven engineering management experience leading technical software/multidisciplinary teams (open to exceptional Team Leads, Engineering Managers, Directors, Heads of Software, or Startup VPs) – Mandatory • Demonstrated track record managing diverse, cross-functional engineering disciplines – Mandatory • Proven background from fast-paced Startup / Scale-up environments – Mandatory • Deep multidisciplinary technological expertise encompassing IoT / Connected Devices / Firmware integration together with B2C, Consumer Electronics, or high-volume Mobile products – Mandatory • Strong, hands-on backend development capabilities and architectural depth in Node.js – Mandatory • Prior experience in B2B/B2C SaaS platforms or high-scale cloud-connected systems – Mandatory • Hands-on familiarity with modern frontend and mobile stacks – Significant Advantage • High ownership, entrepreneurial mindset, excellent leadership presence, and fluent communication skills – Mandatory 155332
