About the jobCompany DescriptionMANNA – Recipes & Cooking is building a new home for food, recipes, and culinary creators.
The platform helps people turn food inspiration from Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and the web into recipes they can save, organize, and actually cook. Users can build personal recipe collections, discover new ideas, create menus, and use AI-powered tools designed around cooking and recipes.
MANNA is already live.
We are now building the early core team that will help take the existing product into its next stage.
Role DescriptionWe are looking for a Technology Lead to take meaningful ownership of MANNA’s technology and continued product development.
This is an early, equity-based core-team role. MANNA already has a working product, existing technology, and an established founder. Equity will be structured according to the scope of responsibility, level of commitment, experience, and long-term involvement.
This is not a role to build an idea or MVP from scratch. A working mobile product and backend already exist.
The role combines hands-on development with technical decision-making. You will work closely with the founder to improve the existing product, build new capabilities, make architectural and infrastructure decisions, and prepare the platform for future growth.
The exact scope can evolve based on the right person and mutual fit.
Key areas of responsibility may include:
• Developing and improving core product features
• Taking ownership of technical decisions and architecture
• Improving platform reliability, performance, and maintainability
• Working across the mobile app, backend, APIs, and data layer
• Integrating and evaluating AI-powered capabilities
• Helping define the technical roadmap as the product evolves
• Establishing strong development practices as the technical team grows
• Potentially helping build and lead the engineering team over time
Current TechnologyMANNA currently uses:
• Flutter / Dart
• Supabase / PostgreSQL
• TypeScript / Deno Edge Functions
• APIs and third-party integrations
• Google Gemini and other AI-powered services
• Android and iOS
Experience with the exact stack is useful, but not required. Strong engineering fundamentals and the ability to work effectively with an existing codebase are more important.
Experience building and maintaining production software
Ability to work across product, architecture, and implementation
Experience with mobile, backend, web, or full-stack development
Familiarity with APIs, databases, cloud services, and modern software architecture
Ability to understand an existing codebase and improve it pragmatically
Strong communication and ability to work closely with non-technical stakeholders
Comfort working in an early-stage environment with changing priorities and incomplete information
A high level of ownership and interest in helping build the company, not only delivering assigned development tasks
Experience with consumer applications, AI integrations, social products, recommendation systems, or early-stage startups is an advantage, but not required.
Stage & CompensationThis is an early-stage core-team opportunity.
There is currently no salary attached to the role, at this point. The position is equity-based during this stage, with equity and vesting structured according to the level of responsibility, commitment, experience, and long-term involvement.
