Job Title: Embedded Linux Team Lead

Experience: 8–12 years (with strong hands-on background)
Education: BE / BTech / ME / MTech – Computer Science, Electronics, or related
Role Overview
We are looking for a Hands-On Embedded Linux Team Lead who combines deep technical expertise with people leadership. This role requires active involvement in design, development, debugging, and delivery, while also mentoring engineers and driving technical excellence across projects. This is a technical leadership role, where the lead is expected to write code, debug issues, review patches, and own complex problem resolution, in addition to guiding the team.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and mentor a team of Embedded Linux engineers while remaining technically hands-on
Actively contribute to:
o Linux BSP bring-up
o Kernel and driver development
o Board-level debugging and system integration
Own end-to-end delivery of Embedded Linux solutions on custom hardware
Drive architecture, design decisions, and technical trade-oAs
Perform hands-on debugging of complex issues using logs, traces, and debug tools
Review and contribute to code, design documents, and technical specifications
Serve as the primary technical escalation point within the team
Collaborate closely with Hardware, QA, Validation, and Support teams
Support customer discussions, technical reviews, and escalations as needed
Ensure engineering best practices, coding standards, and quality processes are followed
Required Skills
Strong hands-on experience in Embedded Linux development
Deep expertise in:
Linux kernel internals
Device driver development
BSP bring-up for custom boards
Strong proficiency in C / C++, shell scripting, and debugging
Extensive experience with Yocto / Buildroot based Linux systems
Solid hands-on experience with:
Bootloaders such as U-Boot
Board bring-up, memory, clocks, and device initialization
Understanding of ARM / PowerPC / x86 SoC architectures
Ability to deep-dive into issues and guide the team through root-cause analysis
Strong communication, technical ownership, and mentoring skills
Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills
Experience with PCI/PCIe, VME, Ethernet, I2C, SPI, UART, USB protocols
Exposure to secure boot, Linux security, or safety-critical systems
