Principal Duties and Essential Functions
Design, simulate, and validate high-speed RFICs for optical transceivers and optical engines including Laser Drivers, TIAs, limiting amplifiers, and analog front-end circuits
Develop circuit architectures and perform transistor-level design to meet performance, power, area, and cost objectives
Support RFIC development throughout the complete product lifecycle from concept definition through silicon validation and production release
Perform schematic design, simulation, verification, and performance optimization using industry-standard EDA tools
Collaborate with layout engineers to ensure successful implementation and verification of RFIC designs
Analyze and optimize key performance parameters including bandwidth, gain, noise, linearity, jitter, output swing, power consumption, and reliability
Support silicon bring-up, laboratory characterization, debugging, and design correlation activities
Contribute to RFIC specifications, technical documentation, design reviews, and product development milestones
Participate in technical reviews and contribute to architecture trade-off discussions
Support technology evaluation and feasibility studies for next-generation optical engine platforms
Collaborate with Silicon Photonics, DSP, Optical Systems, Packaging, Test, and Manufacturing teams to achieve product objectives
Assist in developing design methodologies, simulation flows, and best practices
Mentor junior engineers in specific technical areas when appropriate
Support technology evaluation and feasibility studies for next-generation optical engine platforms
Collaborate with Silicon Photonics, DSP, Optical Systems, Packaging, Test, and Manufacturing teams to achieve product objectives
Assist in developing design methodologies, simulation flows, and best practices
Mentor junior engineers in specific technical areas when appropriate
Mentor and technically guide RFIC engineers and junior designers
Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required
MSc or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Microelectronics, or related field
5-10 years’ experience in high‑speed analog / RFIC design
Experience developing integrated circuits for communication, datacom, telecom, or optical applications.
Proven experience supporting silicon validation and characterization activities.
Deep expertise in: RFIC and high‑speed analog circuit design; Laser Drivers, TIAs, limiting amplifiers, clock and data recovery support circuits, or related analog front-end functions; noise, linearity, signal integrity, and power optimization
Strong experience with Cadence design flow (Virtuoso, Spectre, EM tools)
Experience supporting silicon bring‑up, characterization, and qualification
Solid understanding of electro‑optic integration with Silicon Photonics
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently on complex technical challenges
Strong communication and collaboration skills across multidisciplinary teams
Ability to manage multiple priorities within a dynamic R&D environment
