Riverside is the all-in-one studio-quality recording platform trusted by Spotify, The New York Times, NBC, CNN, and iHeartMedia. We're hiring a Web Developer to own our marketing website end to end - not just the code, but the people, process, and roadmap behind it.
A note on the role: this is a hybrid developer-lead position. Roughly 70% of your time goes to coordination, prioritization, and managing external developers; about 30% is hands-on building. If you love shipping web projects through other people as much as writing code yourself, this is for you.
What you'll do
Own the website work pipeline
Act as the single point of intake for website requests from teams across the company (marketing, product, brand, and more)
Scope, classify, and prioritize incoming tasks - decide what to build yourself, what to delegate, and what to push back on
Keep stakeholders informed on status, timelines, and trade-offs
Manage our external development team
Lead a team of 2-3 freelance web developers (external, not employees)
Run sprints: plan, assign, and distribute work, review deliverables, and hold quality and deadlines
Own vendor relationships, capacity planning, and QA across everything they ship
Lead the website rebuild
Lead the upcoming ground-up rebuild of riverside.com on Webflow - structure, CMS architecture, and migration
Coordinate design, content, SEO, and dev workstreams; own the timeline and keep the project on schedule
Make it fast, scalable, and easy to maintain
Stay hands-on
Build responsive, pixel-perfect pages from Figma designs
Design and maintain Webflow CMS structures that scale with our content roadmap
Own site performance, Core Web Vitals, SEO, CRO, and accessibility best practices
Contribute to platform and architecture decisions as the stack evolves
Requirements
4+ years building production commercial websites
Strong HTML, CSS, and JavaScript fundamentals
Proven ability to run multiple projects in parallel and lead them to completion on deadline
Excellent stakeholder communication - you can take a vague request from any team, turn it into a clear task, and manage expectations along the way
Highly organized and process-driven: boards, sprints, and priorities stay in order because you keep them that way
Strong ownership and independence - you take full responsibility for the site without needing close guidance
Hands-on experience with analytics and tagging tools (Segment, GA4, GTM)
Sharp eye for visual detail, motion, and responsive design
Nice to have
Experience managing freelance developers, agencies, or external vendors - a significant advantage
Experience migrating or rebuilding sites at scale
Animation libraries (GSAP, Lottie)
A/B testing tools (VWO, Optimizely, Convert)
Technical SEO and structured data
WordPress/PHP experience
