NXP Semiconductors

NXP Semiconductors is a Dutch semiconductor company founded in 2006 following a leveraged buyout of Philips' semiconductor division led by Kohlberg Kravis Roberts. The company has been publicly traded on NASDAQ under the ticker NXPI since its 2010 IPO. Its global headquarters is in Eindhoven, the Netherlands.

NXP focuses on semiconductors for automotive, IoT, and communications infrastructure markets. Its product lines include microcontrollers, application processors, NFC chips, and automotive-grade sensors. A major milestone in the company's history was the 2015 acquisition of Freescale Semiconductor for approximately $11.8 billion, which at the time was the largest merger in the semiconductor industry. A proposed acquisition by Qualcomm for $44 billion was announced in 2016 but ultimately terminated in 2019 after failing to receive Chinese regulatory approval.

NXP maintains an active R&D center in Israel, primarily focused on embedded processors and communications technology. The Israel operation is part of NXP's global engineering network and typically hires hardware engineers, embedded software engineers, and VLSI designers.
