Ness Technologies was established in 1999 following the consolidation of several Israeli IT firms. Initially traded on NASDAQ, the company was taken private by an investment firm in 2011. In 2014, the Israeli operations (Ness Israel) were acquired by the publicly traded Israeli payroll and HR company Hilan (TASE: HLAN) for approximately 160 million NIS. This transaction effectively separated the local entity from the global Ness Digital Engineering business. Today, Ness employs over 3,000 people in Israel, operating primarily as an IT services and system integration contractor.

Ness provides IT outsourcing, system integration, cloud infrastructure projects, custom software development, and SAP implementation. The company operates a dedicated software distribution division, NessPRO, which markets, sells, and supports enterprise software from international vendors within the Israeli market. Clients primarily include Israeli government ministries, the IDF, financial institutions, healthcare providers, and local enterprise companies.

In the Israeli IT services sector, Ness competes directly with domestic systems integrators such as Matrix, Malam Team, and One1. The company's business model relies heavily on bidding for large-scale public sector tenders, defense IT contracts, and long-term enterprise outsourcing agreements.

Headquartered in Tel Aviv, Ness operates regional development and service hubs in Jerusalem, Haifa, and Beer Sheva. Because its core business includes IT outsourcing, a significant portion of its workforce is deployed directly at client sites.
