Illusive Networks

Illusive Networks is an Israeli cybersecurity company that developed a deception-based approach to detecting attackers who have already breached an enterprise network. The company was founded by Shlomo Touboul and Ofer Israeli, and is headquartered in Tel Aviv with a presence in the United States.

Illusive Networks' core product deploys a dense layer of deceptions — fake credentials, connections, and resources — distributed across enterprise endpoints. When an attacker attempts lateral movement and interacts with one of these planted deceptions, the system detects and alerts in real time. The primary buyers are enterprise security operations and incident response teams.

Illusive Networks operated in the deception technology market alongside companies such as Attivo Networks and Cymulate. Proofpoint acquired Illusive Networks in 2021, after which the company's technology was folded into Proofpoint's identity threat detection and lateral movement protection portfolio.
