Ermetic

Ermetic was an Israeli cybersecurity company focused on CIEM (Cloud Infrastructure Entitlement Management) — the discovery and governance of identities and permissions in cloud environments. Tenable acquired Ermetic in 2023, integrating its capabilities into Tenable's cloud security portfolio under the Tenable Cloud Security brand.

Ermetic's platform addressed the problem of excessive and misconfigured permissions for both human and non-human identities across multi-cloud environments including AWS, Azure, and GCP. Security teams used it to reduce attack surface by identifying and remediating overprivileged access. The target buyer was the enterprise security team operating complex cloud infrastructure.

Ermetic competed in the CIEM and CNAPP space alongside companies such as Wiz and Orca Security. Its 2023 acquisition by Tenable brought entitlement management capabilities into the broader Tenable One exposure management platform.
