DSP Group

DSP Group was a semiconductor company specializing in wireless chipsets for DECT (Digital Enhanced Cordless Telecommunications) technology, used in cordless phones and related devices for home and enterprise markets. The company was publicly traded on NASDAQ under the ticker DSPG. In 2021, Synaptics Incorporated acquired DSP Group in a transaction valued at approximately $595 million, after which DSP Group's operations were folded into Synaptics.

DSP Group's primary focus was designing chipsets for DECT, ULE (Ultra Low Energy), and PSTN applications, sold primarily to OEM manufacturers in consumer telecommunications, smart home, and home medical device markets. Its product lines included DECT chipsets for cordless handsets, voice gateways, and DECT ULE-based IoT devices.

DSP Group maintained a significant R&D center in Israel alongside its Santa Clara, California headquarters, focused on chip design engineering. Following the completion of the Synaptics acquisition in 2021, the Israeli operations became part of Synaptics.
