Agoda was formed in 2005 by Michael Kenney and Robert Rosenstein. Headquartered in Singapore with a massive operational and development center in Bangkok, Thailand, the company operates as a B2C online travel agency (OTA). In 2007, Agoda was acquired by The Priceline Group, now known as Booking Holdings (NASDAQ: BKNG), and operates as its wholly owned subsidiary. The core product is a travel booking platform that allows consumers to reserve accommodations, flights, and travel activities, maintaining a particularly strong market share in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region.
