Samsung is creating a new era of continuous innovation, bringing value and contribution to society and creating a workplace where our employees can enjoy making the most of their talent, creativity and passion.
We are looking for people with a broad set of technical skills, who are ready to tackle some of technology’s greatest challenges, and who can think out of the box and bring the disruptive technologies that will define our future.
The Group:
Our group develops image sensors that are integrated into the cameras of all leading smartphone brands.
Team members are expected to gain a deep understanding of all systems layers from block and IP level through chip and system up to user interfaces.
What will you do?
We’re looking for a motivated student to join our Image Sensor Firmware team.
In this role, you’ll explore the intersection of sensor technology and smartphone photography,
learning how engineering teams balance critical trade-offs between image quality, resolution, dynamic range, chip size, and power efficiency.
You’ll write production-grade firmware that powers next-generation imaging systems.
Develop firmware in C on embedded processors with limited memory footprints.
Develop firmware that controls and manages the entire chip system and data-path:
Boot sequence, Control of Image processing blocks, HW IP configuration, Implementing RT algorithms, communication with external IC,
interface with the smartphone Application Processor, memory management, and much more.
Implement and optimize algorithms taking advantage of hardware accelerators.
Influence system architecture, algorithms and hardware design.
Develop low-level unit and system-level tests. Both on Simulation and Emulation.
Tightly collaborate with engineers from teams such as Algorithms, Analog, Digital Design, Digital Verification, FW Verification and FAEs.

Currently pursuing a B.Sc. in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering (minimum 3-4 semesters remaining until graduation).
GPA 85 or higher.
Strong programming skills in C.
Availability to work at least 20 hours per week.
Demonstrated ability to quickly learn new domains and technologies.
Strong analytical mindset with a passion for hardware-software design.
Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
Advantages:
Hands-on experience debugging integrated hardware-software systems during early hardware development or silicon bring-up.
Familiarity with hardware emulation platforms (e.g., FPGA, Cadence Palladium).
Proficiency in C++ and/or Python.
Experience working with ARM Cortex or RISC-V processor architectures.
Strong background in algorithmic thinking and technical problem-solving.
Knowledge in AI Agents.
