The Opportunity
We're looking for a backend Software Engineer to join our GeoTech team as a key contributor. In this role, you'll help process and structure all data coming into our product, execute data pipelines, and maintain data quality. Your role will be pivotal in creating a unified, up-to-date, and accurate utilities map, services, and applications for accelerating our mapping operations. Your contributions will directly impact our core product's success.

Lead the design and implementation of software solutions, ensuring alignment with project goals and objectives.
Provide technical guidance to team members, fostering a collaborative and supportive team culture.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers and QA engineers, to deliver high-quality software products.
Design and implement CI/CD processes for data processing, releasing, testing and monitoring, ensuring robustness and consistency.
Create and manage data infrastructure components, including ETL workflows, databases, supporting seamless data flow and accessibility.
Develop and optimize complex Python-based applications and services to allow more efficient data processing capabilities, enhancing quality and accuracy of our data.
Conduct technical reviews of third-party tools, frameworks and technologies.
Identify technical debt and areas for improvement, implementing solutions to enhance code quality and maintainability.

4+ years as a software engineer with solid Python skills
Proven experience with AI development tools - we use Claude Code as a daily tool on our team
Familiarity with Airflow (or comparable orchestration)
Experience with PostgreSQL/SQL, AWS services, K8S, Docker, debugging
Fluent written and verbal English
