The KLA Services team headquartered in Milpitas, CA is our service organization that consists of Service Sales and Marketing, Spares Supply Chain management, Field Operations, Engineering, Product Training, and Technical Support. The KLA Services organization partners with our field teams and customers in all business sectors to maintain the high performance and productivity of our products through a flexible portfolio of services. Our comprehensive services include: proactive management of tools to identify and improve performance; expertise in optics, image processing and motion control with worldwide service engineers, 24/7 technical support teams and knowledge management systems; and an extensive parts network to ensure worldwide availability of parts.
Job Description/Preferred Qualifications
As a Product Engineer (Sustaining & NPI), you will support a portfolio of inspection and metrology tools including optical profilers and component inspection machines.
This role focuses on improving service infrastructure, supporting incremental product changes, and improving field execution across an established install base. You will act as the Voice of Service, ensuring service strategies, tools, and processes scale optimally with evolving customer and product needs
Product NPI engineering activities, including engineering material, documentation, configuration control, FRU’s and Jigs.
Work with cross functional teams of engineers, manufacturing, supply chain to define and maintain the new product structure.
Implement processes methodologies, including test and troubleshooting related items.
Setup complex project plans, across multiple resources disciplines, and drive to completion.
Work with design engineers to order, receive, and manage prototype material.
Create, review, and submit engineering change orders (ECOs) as needed.
Self-managing priorities and activities to support the transfer to production of multiple products.
Support the field service team by coordinating the assembly and shipment of the required spare parts.
Prepare COS model (bottom-up and top-down) during concept phase, and update them as new information is available.
Works with Learning and Knowledge Services (LKS) to determine the training requirements for new products and/or upgrades. Trains the trainer, and teach or co-teach initial courses.
Ensure that learning on current generation tools is captured and applied to next generation designs.
Travel to Beta sites for support of new tool installations/upgrades, and for escalation support for new products
Experience in a Systems or NPI/Process Engineer role.
Strong analytic and data analysis skills.
Knowledge or experience with industry standard problem-solving methodologies and models.
Motivated by helping others succeed, enjoys teaching, troubleshooting, working with groups of people and explaining sophisticated things as simply as possible.
Availability for travel both domestically and internationally up to 30%
