Manage UK logistics, import/export, trade compliance.
Job Description
Trade Compliance & Customs
Import/Export Leadership: Oversee all UK inbound and outbound international freight activities, ensuring full compliance with global trade regulations.
AEO & Audit Management: Maintain and leverage our Authorised Economic Operator (AEO) status. Act as the primary lead for internal and external HMRC/customs audits.
Export Licensing: Manage and maintain all necessary export licences, ensuring strict adherence to controlled goods regulations.
Tax & Duty Optimisation: Apply a deep understanding of cross-border tax implications (VAT, tariffs, duties) to mitigate financial risks and optimise landed costs.
Operations & Carrier Management
Domestic & International Freight: Oversee the end-to-end movement of goods domestically within the UK and internationally across global trade lanes.
Carrier Management: Manage relationships with third-party carriers, freight forwarders, and 3PL providers. Negotiate contracts and SLAs to drive performance and achieve measurable cost savings.
Repair Logistics: Design and manage robust repair/reverse logistics workflows to minimise turnaround times and improve customer satisfaction.
Process Improvement: Continuously analyse supply chain data to identify bottlenecks, implementing Lean or Six Sigma methodologies to drive operational excellence across the logistics network.
Strategic Initiatives & M&A
M&A Integration: Act as the logistics lead during Mergers & Acquisitions, assessing target supply chains, identifying synergies, and smoothly integrating acquired logistics networks into our existing infrastructure.
UK Market Expertise: Apply a strong understanding of the UK freight market, transport regulations, and infrastructural networks to optimize routing and carrier selection.
