What a College Intern - New Product Introduction Engineering (NPI Mechanical/Mechatronics) does at HP:
You will work closely with the NPI Principal Technologist and engineering teams
Develop and test product and tooling concepts through rapid prototyping
Solve manufacturing, process, automation, and product-related problems
Design and modify fixtures, jigs, and tooling
Support experiments, characterization studies, and NPI builds
Assist with data analysis, SPC, gage R&R, and engineering investigations
Collaborate across multiple engineering disciplines to introduce new technologies into production
Technical Skills Being Developed:
Product Design
Tools & Fixture Design
Manufacturing Process Development
Failure Analysis & Root Cause Investigation
Statistical Process Control (SPC)
Experimental Design and Testing
Rapid Prototyping
Individuals who do well in this role at HP, usually possess:
Current Bachelor or Master undergraduates in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering
Able to commit for a 5-6 months full-time internship, starting in January 2027
