Description
About Us:
Daisy is building the future of living. As a full-stack, AI-native property management company for HOAs, co-ops, and condos, we're modernizing one of real estate's largest and most fragmented industries. By combining technology with exceptional service, we deliver greater transparency for boards, more efficient operations, and a better resident experience.
In just a few years, we've become the 8th largest property management company in NYC, expanded across the tri-state area, and now manage over 5,000 units and $200M+ in building budgets.
Backed by strong growth and recent financing, we're entering our next chapter of growth as we expand Daisy's AI-powered operating model nationwide.
Overview:
You've spent the last couple of years in public accounting learning how financials are built, audited, and stress-tested. You know your way around reconciliations, controls, and tight deadlines, and you're ready to do more than tie out someone else's numbers.
This role is for a sharp, early-career accountant who wants to own the books, not just audit them — someone out to revolutionize the day-to-day of accounting through automation and AI, doing in minutes what used to take a team. You'll manage financials for a portfolio of condo and co-op buildings while helping us build the tooling that lets a small team operate at a scale the rest of the industry can't touch. You'll work directly with senior finance leadership, get real ownership early, and have a front-row seat to how a modern finance function actually gets built. If "there has to be a faster and more accurate way to do this" is your default reaction to manual work, you'll fit right in.
Most accountants are leaving their roles to trade audit deadlines for a slower industry job. This isn't that. You'll get the ownership and exposure of a much more senior seat — direct work with finance leadership, visibility into M&A and systems projects, and a mandate to automate yourself out of the boring parts of the job. It's the rare early-career role where being technical and ambitious is the whole point.
What You’ll Do:
Own building-level accounting for a portfolio of properties — reconciliations, journal entries, budget creation, strategic financial planning, and monthly close
Produce accurate, timely financial reporting and support budgeting and forecasting for individual properties
Investigate discrepancies, troubleshoot issues, and resolve financial and operational gaps before they become problems
Build and improve automated workflows — we'd rather you fix the process than run it manually every month
Use AI tools (Claude, Gemini for Google Sheets, and our internal tooling) to streamline reconciliations, reporting, and analysis
Partner with senior team members and Account Management teams, and grow into a trusted point of contact for building boards
Help us scale the finance function through systems and automation rather than headcount
What You Bring:
1–3 years of experience in public accounting (Big 4 or large regional firm), ideally in audit/assurance or accounting
CPA or actively on the CPA track strongly preferred
Accounting degree or formal accounting background
Strong Excel skills and a real appetite for improving how things get done
Genuine enthusiasm for AI and automation — you've experimented with these tools, or you're eager to and want a role that rewards it
Builder mentality and comfort with ambiguity; you're energized, not paralyzed, by a fast-moving startup environment
Strong communication skills and the maturity to grow into client-facing work
Exposure to property, real estate, or NYC real estate compliance (tax abatements, RPIE, building audits) is a plus, not a requirement — we'll teach you the domain
Compensation:
This role offers a salary of $85K–$110K, depending on experience and qualifications, along with a competitive benefits package.
