Lead and manage the System Engineering team, providing strong technical authority over complex, multidisciplinary product integration (Laser, RF, Ultrasound, Hardware, Software).
Drive System-Level Architecture and technical baseline definition, successfully translating PRD & MRD inputs into clear, testable System Requirements Specifications (SRS).
Own the full system risk management lifecycle (ISO 14971), executing comprehensive cross-disciplinary hazard analyses (FMEA/FTA).
Enforce architectural boundaries and system safety compliance (IEC 60601-1 and IEC 60601-1-2 EMC) across all engineering subsystems.
Lead formal system design reviews and manage critical interface control documents (ICDs) between the Software and Hardware engineering groups.
Ensure compliance with medical device development processes and regulatory standards, owning the requirements traceability matrix.
Requirements
B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or Physics – Mandatory M.Sc. in Systems Engineering or a related technical discipline – Strong Advantage
At least 5 years of proven managerial experience leading engineering teams – mandatory
Proven background as a System Engineer / System Architecture – mandatory
Direct hands-on experience with professional requirements lifecycle tools (e.g., DOORS, or specialized Jira architecture) to maintain strict medical device traceability
Experience working on complex multidisciplinary systems (ideally energy-based devices utilizing Laser, RF, or Ultrasound) – required
Experience in medical device companies or regulated environments – required
Experience using simulation or modeling tools (e.g., MATLAB, Simulink) to conduct early-stage technical trade-off analyses and feasibility studies before physical integration
Strong leadership and people management capabilities
Deep, practical understanding of core systems engineering principles and methodologies
Ability to see the big picture while maintaining meticulous attention to technical details
Define and execute the system integration strategy, detailing the step-by-step bring-up plan for early prototypes combining hardware, software, mechanics and optics/energy subsystems
Excellent cross-functional communication and stakeholder management skills
Partner heavily with the V&V Team Lead to review System Requirements Specifications (SRS) for testability, ensuring a seamless handshake between system definition and final validation
Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking
Ability to operate in a fast-paced, matrix environment
High level of ownership and execution
