Teads

Teads is a digital advertising company founded in 2011 by Pierre Chappaz and Bertrand Quesada. The company built a video advertising platform that places ads inside editorial content on news and media publisher sites, as opposed to the social-media-feed model. Teads markets itself as a "Global Media Platform" and operates in the Martech and AdTech space.

Teads's core product is an outstream video advertising platform — meaning video ads rendered inline within article body text on publisher pages, rather than as pre-roll before existing video. Its primary customers are large B2C brands and media agencies seeking an alternative to social-network advertising, with access to audiences in premium, brand-safe editorial environments. Teads operates with hundreds of premium publishers worldwide as its supply-side inventory.

Teads competes in the digital video advertising market alongside players such as Outbrain, Taboola, and Index Exchange, as well as the dominant walled gardens (Google and Meta). In 2023, Outbrain announced a merger with Teads — a transaction designed to combine two large open-web advertising platforms. The merger was completed and Outbrain subsequently rebranded to Teads. Following the merger, the combined company trades on NASDAQ under the ticker TADS.
