Nanox Vision

Nanox Vision (also known as Nano-X Imaging) is an Israeli medical imaging company headquartered in Neve Ilan, Israel. The company is publicly traded on NASDAQ under the ticker NNOX. Nanox develops a digital X-ray source technology intended to make medical imaging more accessible and affordable globally.

The company's core technology is a cold cathode digital X-ray source based on a semiconductor fabrication process, marketed under the Nanox.ARC name. Traditional X-ray tubes generate heat and require significant power; Nanox claims its semiconductor-based source can be manufactured at lower cost and operated at lower power. The intended buyers are hospitals, clinics, and diagnostic imaging centers, particularly in underserved markets where conventional CT and X-ray infrastructure is expensive to deploy.

Nanox.ARC is the primary hardware product — a digital X-ray source unit designed to be combined into a multi-source tomosynthesis system. Nanox also developed a cloud-based imaging platform called Nanox.CLOUD, intended to handle image transmission, storage, and AI-assisted triage for images captured by Nanox.ARC devices. Nanox acquired Nanox AI (formerly Zebra Medical Vision) which provides AI-based medical imaging analytics; Zebra Medical Vision was a well-known Israeli AI radiology company before the acquisition.

Nanox operates in the medical imaging equipment market alongside established players such as GE HealthCare, Siemens Healthineers, and Philips, which dominate the hospital-grade CT and X-ray segment. Nanox's stated differentiation is price and deployment simplicity for low-resource settings, though the company has faced scrutiny — including a short-seller report in 2020 — over its technology readiness and commercial progress. FDA clearance for the Nanox.ARC system was a key regulatory milestone the company pursued.

Nanox is headquartered in Neve Ilan, near Jerusalem. The company's founding team and core R&D are Israel-based. Zebra Medical Vision, which Nanox acquired, was originally based in Kibbutz Shefayim in central Israel.
