It is distinguished by its unusually large share of international revenue, with especially deep operations in Asia, Latin America, and Europe. The bank has undergone a significant organizational restructuring under CEO Jane Fraser, which began in 2021 and continued through 2024–2025, including the divestiture of retail banking operations in several international markets.

Citi maintains a business presence in Israel through Citibank Israel, focused primarily on institutional and corporate clients rather than broad retail banking. The Israel office is located in Tel Aviv.
