Tevel Metro Ltd. is the designated operating company for the Red Line of the Tel Aviv Light Rail (Dankal). The company was established as a joint venture led by the Egged Group, which holds a 51% stake, alongside Chinese infrastructure and transit partners Shenzhen Metro (SZMC) and CCECC. The company's headquarters and primary operational control center are located at the Kiryat Arye maintenance depot in Petah Tikva. The single most significant event for Tevel Metro was the official launch of the Red Line for commercial passenger service in August 2023. As a dedicated transit operator functioning under a government concession from NTA (Metropolitan Mass Transit System), traditional startup metrics like venture funding, valuation, or ARR do not apply.

Tevel Metro's primary mandate is the day-to-day operation, management, and maintenance of the Red Line. This encompasses managing the train operators, running the Operational Control Center (OCC), and handling passenger services across the line's surface and underground stations. While the company operates highly complex transit technologies—such as Alstom's CBTC signaling and control systems that enable semi-autonomous train operation within the tunnel sections—Tevel Metro is strictly an infrastructure and transportation operations entity, not a commercial software or hardware development company.
