Description
Join Orbit Communication Systems as an Electro-Mechanical Design Engineer, contributing to the design and development of advanced communication systems. In this role, you will focus on enclosures, thermal solutions, and RF integration for high-performance products in complex environments.
Responsibilites
Design airborne and indoor mechanical enclosures for electronics equipment.
Work according to MIL standards.
Thermal and heat dissipation design.
Design to sustain severe environmental conditions: shock, vibrations, temperature & more.
EMI/RFI shielding considerations.
Support printed circuit board design
Major components and connectors layout and interfaces
Prepare PCB drawings for layouts and placement
Working with PCB layout designer
Design of mechanical elements in various RF and Antenna systems.
Work closely with RF and Antenna Engineer on intricate mechanical design of RF front end.
Mechanical design of antenna system and compact packaging of components inside RF unit.
Supervise and manage packaging design subcontractors when required.
Produce designs meeting performance, cost and manufacturability goals.
Create production and assembly drawings as well as related documentation.
Support prototype assembly, assist in integration and testing phases.
Requirements
B.Sc./M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering.
Relevant Mechanical design experience of at least 3 years - airborne filled is preferred.
3D CAD extensive experience (SolidWorks strongly preferred).
Experience in Electro-Mechanical enclosures design by MIL STDs.
Vast knowledge of manufacturing processes and technologies
English proficiency.
Team player, excellent interpersonal skills.
Advantage: design experience in the following fields:
Electro-Mechanical enclosures design for airborne systems according to FAA or CAAI regulation.
Design to meet RTCA-DO160.
RF and/or Antenna design.
Casting design.
Experience in structural and thermal analysis.
