Infra & Ecosystem Team Leader

Description We are building a next-generation autonomous systems platform, spanning cloud, air-gapped environments, ground control (C2), and edge computing on companion computers. The Infra & Ecosystem Team Leader will establish and lead a multidisciplinary team responsible for enabling the entire software organization to build, test, deploy, and operate efficiently. This role sits at the intersection of engineering, DevOps, simulation, and internal platforms, and is critical to turning product vision into scalable, deployable, and operable systems in real-world environments. Who You Are A technology-driven leader who enjoys building systems end-to-end—not just maintaining them Deployment-oriented, with a strong focus on real-world delivery and operability Comfortable navigating ambiguity and shaping a new team from the ground up A strong collaborator who can translate product direction into infrastructure and tooling strategy Responsibilities Team Leadership & Strategy Build and lead the Infra & Ecosystem team, including DevOps, simulation, and internal tools engineers Define the vision and roadmap for infrastructure, tooling, and developer ecosystem Align team priorities with Core (C2 & backend) and Edge (companion computer) product roadmaps Act as a force multiplier across R&D by enabling fast, reliable, and repeatable delivery Infrastructure & CI/CD Own the design and implementation of CI/CD pipelines across the full stack (frontend, backend, edge software) Establish deployment strategies for both cloud and air-gapped environments Drive standardization of build, packaging, and release processes (e.g., containers, Debian packages, offline delivery mechanisms) Deployment & Provisioning Lead the development of end-to-end provisioning systems for customer environments Design robust workflows for delivering and updating software in restricted / disconnected environments Ensure reliability, observability, and maintainability of production deployments Simulation & Validation Ecosystem Own the simulation strategy as part of the development and testing lifecycle Enable integration of simulation environments into CI/CD pipelines Support Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) / Software-in-the-Loop (SIL) capabilities where relevant Internal Tools & Developer Experience Build internal platforms and tools that improve developer productivity and system visibility Simplify workflows across development, testing, and deployment Promote best practices in automation, monitoring, and system reliability Requirements 5+ years of experience in DevOps / infrastructure / platform engineering, with at least 2 years in a leadership role Strong experience designing and operating CI/CD systems for complex, multi-component products Hands-on experience with cloud and on-prem / air-gapped deployments Experience with containers and packaging systems (Docker, Kubernetes, Debian packages, etc.) Proven ability to design deployment and provisioning architectures for distributed systems Strong understanding of software development workflows across frontend, backend, and embedded/edge systems Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and working across organizational boundaries Nice to Have Experience with simulation environments, robotics, or autonomous systems Familiarity with edge computing stacks (Python/C++) Experience building internal developer platforms or toolchains from scratch Background in network-restricted / secure environments
